From 1945 to 1962, the U.S. military blew up hundreds of nuclear bombs. Photographers tried to capture the process of an atomic explosion and its devastating effects. 82-year-old George Yoshitaki is the only living photographer of the time. These photos are from the book “How to photograph an atomic bomb” by Peter Kuran.
